Art or physics?
When Edmond Jurczek had to choose two core subjects at the grammar school in Zug a year before his Matura, he opted for visual arts and physics. A year later, he had to choose a course of study: either the School of Arts and Crafts or a degree in the Natural Sciences.
Edmond decided on Theoretical Physics at the ETH Zurich. He said to himself at the time that as a physicist and mathematician he would still be able to paint later, and that thanks to financial independence he would be able to do so in an unrestricted way. As a painter, on the other hand, he would hardly be able to pick up or understand a profound scientific book... In retrospect, studying architecture would probably have been the ideal choice; only that was not in sight at the time.
Psychology is needed for turnaround
After his doctorate, Edmond turned to economics & business management. Several times he was active as a so-called turnaround manager. In doing so, he noticed the enormous importance of psychology when it came to bringing mental movement into a company and building a corresponding new behavioral culture.
Creative mind
His creative streak also came through: Edmond is considered the creator of the innovative TSM Total Security Management management system. This extends the well-known TQM Total Quality Management approach by aspects of safety, environment and SA Social Accountability - be it for products, for company processes or for the education and training of people! Under the title "Security for Healthy Growth" he has written two books about this in his ART-TECH self-publishing house. They served him among other things as text books for students at foreign universities, where he worked as a lecturer.
Innovative standardization processes were thus driven by him internationally. In Europe, he was vice president of the EOTC, the European Organization for Conformity Assessment, an organization of the EU. The Guide for the implementation of the MRA (Mutual Recognition Agreement) between Switzerland and the EU bears his signature, and notably not for the Swiss side, but for the EU side.
In Switzerland, Edmond was personally elected by Federal Councilor Koller to the AKKO, the so-called Federal Accreditation Commission.
Deepening of the human consciousness
But Edmond's inner aspirations were not really fulfilled. As a physicist and interested in psychology & philosophy, as an entrepreneur with international & strong transcultural experience, as well as a person endowed with a gift of perception, he continued to strive in the direction of a "Human Development", the ignition of a deeper consciousness.
Edmond then became self-employed as a coach, consultant, lecturer and teacher in the Middle & Far East as well as in the EU. This includes several years of work in Abu Dhabi and in Jakarta.
The mysteries origin and future
Soulful and lightning-bright works such as those of Jiddu Krishnamurti ("Freedom, Love and Action", "Freedom from the Known", "In Communion with Life") or the correspondence between the Nobel Prize winner in physics Wolfgang Pauli (Spin ½, Exclusion Principle) and the Swiss psychologist C.G. Jung (Archetypes, Anima & Animus, Synchronicity) have always fascinated him. To ponder and wonder about the mysteries of nature, indeed of the cosmos, has always been a strong driving force. So it's no surprise that etymology (where we come from) and futurology (where we're going to) are two of Edmond's favorite hobbyhorses.
